Create Your Own Tropical Paradise

Create Your Own Tropical Paradise

Living in Idaho can seem a long way from the tropics, especially during our long, cold winters. But why not bring a bit of the tropics to your patio for the summer. MandevillaVineOnPatio

Colorful tropical vines, like the Mandevilla (above) or bougainvillea, can add a wonderful tropical feel to the patio. Tropical flowers like the yellow Euryops daisy (above)  tropical hibiscus, and fragrant jasmine can add a tropical flavor to your patio, at least for a couple of months.

Speaking of flavor, how about some tropical fruit? Lemons, limes, oranges, tangelos, clementines, kumquats, limequats, and figs can all be grown on the patio during the summer and then moved inside a sun room, greenhouse, or even a bright south window for the winter.
